Ok, so I'm playing around in the new chatroom on the nbew site showing off some of it's features to Magz when the topic somehow goes awry and we start talking about the ability to create communities within communities. Using groups, you will be able to build your own little community within the walls of the new towtalk. Then it hits me. It's named wrong. Maybe we need to call it something else. The new site will be like a nation filled with different states....

It's brilliant! One of the issues I was struggling with was the new forum is based in php whereas our current forum is written in asp. Moving the data was going to be a long drawn out affair and would have taken me months. Also, the new site has the ability to let the members create groups within the forum. You can align with others of the same mindset, same location, etc. Sort of like building states within a nation!

So, the game plan has changed. The old site (towtalk.net) will remain as an archive site and the new site will allow us to take the next big step in bringing our entire community together. It will also allow me to dramatically speed up the process and bring it all online much much faster!
